When normal people do natural things that upset the profits of ultra-capitalists, you get hit with nasty, incriminating and demeaning terms like #jaywalking and #piracy. But when those same uber-rich use tech to squeeze every penny out of you without providing any extra value by locking down devices with tech, those draconian measures get downplayed under innocuous sounding terms like #SoftwareTethering?

I once got a #jaywalking ticket in LA, when I was at USC. Campus was separated from restaurants by a 1/4-mile stretch of road w crosswalks at each end. My friend had broken his leg & was on crutches so we crossed in middle. Cop gave me $110 ticket & I actually went to court to fight on principle. I prepped a 3-page statement. Judge wouldn't let me read it, but cut fine in 1/2 if I "promised not to do it again"
