And whilst I'm Breezeblockin' I've got a screen of more nostalgia, I'm working my way through 80s kids cartoon series 'Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors' to see what far distant memories this stir in my million year old brain.
Cannot get over the contrivance of the 'wheeled warriors', the Galaxy should learn how to build anti-traffic measures, stop building corridors in spaceships big enough to drive a living truck monster down...

On the Terran side of things the dying father of the main hero gives his son a glowing pendant and the word 'Thundersub'. It's quite #JayceAndTheWheeledWarriors in that sense.
Anyway the 'lads' (and the token female character) have escaped to an island where, they've discovered Earth's most advanced ship unguarded and waiting for them to stumble across in a cave.
The subgenre of "kids find incredible vessel, go on adventures" gave me impossible expectations of Life. -
