Sie können diesen Film als Box-Film, also als ein klassisches Sport-Drama sehen. Daran wäre nichts falsch. Für mich ist es allerdings ein Film über eine Frau, die sich die Autonomie über ihren Körper erkämpft, und eine Gesellschaft, die ihr diese Autonomie am Ende wieder nimmt. Genau deshalb ist die Geschichte viel radikaler, als das eher konservative Männerkino-Image von Regisseur und Hauptdarsteller Clint Eastwood eigentlich vermuten lässt.
