2015 U.S. reissueOne of my ten favorite records of the #90s , and one of the most criminally underrated “should’ve been” bands of that decade.
There are five legitimate GREAT rock songs in this record, and nine REALLY good ones.
This was their last record (1996) after a damn fine run of incredible work.If you’re unfamiliar with this album, start with the first three songs out the gate.
You won’t turn it off.
It just keeps hitting.Amazing album by one of D.C.’s finest.

#TIL that Jawbox opened for Fugazi as their first public show. Which makes total sense, now that I finally got around to listening to some Fugazi.
Like their music, this album is hard to classify. It doesn't feel quite right to call it punk, metal or indie, any more than it would feel right to use those terms to describe Faith No More. They're too eclectic for that.
