久しぶりですね。
Back in April I had to focus on an event that took all my time in a day for 2 weeks. I had to suspend all new learning and just survive to #BunPro and #WaniKani reviews during that time. Even reviews were not consistent during that period.
Some time afterwards I got back to studying new grammar points at BunPro. I'm not studying new items everyday, but around four out three times a week. All new grammar points are really useful to increase comprehension. I'm currently 40% through N4 items.
I'm still at #WaniKani level 30. I've been doing revisions everyday but generally not studying new items. Only very sporadically. This means WaniKani progress is actually going backwards in the sense that they are adding new vocabulary from previous levels 😅 I've studied some of it.
Lastly, lately, when commuting I've been pretty much always listening to the Nihongo con Teppei podcast. I guess I'm getting better at listening. It's relatively rare the episode or part of episode where I can't grasp what's going on. However, I feel this is beginner level Japanese, very paused, and that if I try something a little bit more difficult I'll be completely lost 😆
The podcast is also good to listen to newly learned grammar points being used in practice. Acts as a review of them.
I've read some very short and simple illustrated books during a weekend a few weeks ago, but other than that I haven't read much Japanese lately. I'd like to try simple unillustrated books. I have some in my Kobo, downloaded from #Aozora. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm nearly finished with #Genki I on #Bunpro. Some grammar structures are difficult (for example I find adjective+のは difficult to grasp) or I tend to forget some details.
I think how Bunpro lays out the grammar structures is quite confusing. I feel Genki does a much better job at that.
On the other hand, spaced repetition is clearly invaluable. And I like the cramming feature, because I'm feeling sometimes I need a broader review to consolidate.

I'm nearly finished with #Genki I. Only a few exercises left. I've been studying consistently every week since start of January.
When I went to Japan I bought some manga. I planned to try to readドラえもん volume 1 when I finished Genki I, one of the simpler manga I bought.
With this in mind, the other day I looked at #Natively (learnnatively.com) to see what it said about Doraemon. It says #WaniKani level 21. I'm currently finishing 29. No issue there.
I read some comments to see if anyone mentioned grammar level. I found a few comments mentioning N3. I'm not sure whether they're mentioning it in terms of vocabulary, grammar or both. But I know my grammar is barely a solid N5...
I looked up some more books. Many had WK level around 30, mostly below.
So... I've come to the hard realisation (which I already knew, but it hit me harder now) that my grammar is lagging behind. A lot!
With that in mind, I jumped into #Bunpro three days ago. I planned to do it after finishing Genki I and II, but now I know that's a mistake. I need to move much faster and in a solid way with grammar (spaced repetition, because I learn grammar and forget it...), and I think Bunpro will help. I'm enjoying it so far, let's see how it develops. (Ah, I synched vocab with WK, so I don't get furigana I should know. Also disabled English translation by default.)
I'm using the Genki I grammar deck for now, as a full review of everything I should already know and as a way to practice. And I'm learning new things/nuances because Bunpro has different explanations for the same grammar points.
Anyway, I'll soon try to read ドラえもん and see how it goes. The extent to which I'll understand it or not will be important information to assess how far or short I am in this long road of #JapaneseLearning .

I want to try a new #Japanese learning method: I'd like to start posting regular or semi-regular videos talking about different things, using a translation service and/or dictionary to find the necessary words. The problem is, my living situation is a little ruff right now, so I can't think of anything positive to talk about. If I can get into a better place though, has anyone had luck with this method? #LanguageLearning #LanguageStudy #JapaneseLearning

I'm progressing in grammar too. But still to finish Genki I. I'm at section 9. I feel that I study new grammar and forget how to apply parts I already studied, which is frustrating. I probably should use Bunpro to help (which I've seen @indutny mention many times), but I've decided to stick with Genki I and II (which I own) before going for Bunpro...

Question for Japanese-speaking people: What's the usual way to say "goodbye" in formal circumstances (e.g. when leaving the shop/restaurant, with unknown people, your seniors, i.e. NOT family members or friends)? Because as far as I understand さようなら is only for situations when I want to dramatically walk into the sunset with no intention of ever seeing these people again, while all じゃあね, またね , バイバイ and their derivatives are for informal casual situations. I just realized that I have no idea what Japanese really use in formal setting... Thank you in advance for replies.

I've been consistently studying grammar with #Genki. I read the whole section, then do some exercises each day (not every day, my objective is at least four times a week). I do them on the website below, which allows me to get automatic correction of my answers. And it also has summaries of the grammar points. I re-read parts of the section as needed as I progress through the exercises. When I finish all exercises for a section, I move to the next one.

Dropping #Duolingo is one of the best things I did lately.
I'm now studying grammar multiple times per week, with #Genki. I study a lesson, then do reviews as needed, and complete the exercises.
I love not having the stress to complete Duolingo daily by midnight. I can actually learn things and improve multiple times per week. And if I slide past midnight that's totally fine, it still counts.

There's a Japanese phrase 雀の涙 (suzume no namida, lit. tears of a sparrow, sometimes 雀の涙ほど) which is a formal business-ey phrase that roughly translates to 'this small amount' that implies that they aren't able to afford/gather the whole amount of something.
Unironically, RADWIMPS has a song titled that in the Suzume movie (so punny, Suzume), that uses it literally to say that the tears of the singer are small like those of a sparrow.

I've been learning Japanese seriously for the past 6 months, and it's a cool experience all things considered. Mainly, I've been learning through reading texts, posts and VNs, watching anime without subtitles and using an SRS (Anki) to keep track of the words I've encountered. In regards to grammar, Tae Kim's Japanese guide has been very helpful, even though I haven't looked much at it recently. Sentence building, at least for now, is still difficult to do.
Besides what I mentioned, are there other, additional ways of learning the language?

You've probably seen and understand that 々 is the symbol for repeating a Kanji, e.g. 時々... but there's also an uncommon set of other short forms as well...
ゝfor hiragana e.g. ここ → こゝ
ヽ or katakana バナナ → バナヽThey also come in dakuten versions ゞ and ヾ.
If you read vertical Japanese like in novels, you've probably also seen the weird vertical elongated〱called a くの字点 or its dakuten alternative that represents a repeat of two or more characters.
