@daltonator You can get the #January6Report free from the feds. I did the day it came out. Can I provide you with the address? No. Suggest you search on it with one of the key words being .gov. When I was searching, I did see any number of non-free versions, generally they put a fancy cover on the thing and had somebody or other add an editorial commentary. Then again, I think I got it from the committee’s website. That’s likely gone, I suppose.

These both just arrived. It’s going to be an interesting few days.

The #January6Report and Committee have done a great public service. But in focusing *so much* on the events leading up to Jan 6, they failed to focus adequately on the systemic threats to American democracy that have continued for the past 2 years. @marcelias This is such a good point, crucial really. This is evidence that Trump knew he had lost. And therefore his multiple attempts to overturn (steal) the election are insurrection. Period. Lock him up.

Perhaps I’m being jejune, but, independently of the #January6Report and the findings of the Commission, doesn’t Trump’s recent call for termination of the Constitution on Truth Social make him incapable of taking the Oath of Office and therefore, ever holding office again?

The thing about a functional democracy is that we don’t jail our political opponents after they lose



unless they have committed crimes.

I hope this situation doesn’t devolve into ego feuds. Considering that the Republicans and Trump are going to lie like rugs when the GOP takes the House, it’s imperative that the report be as comprehensive and wide-ranging as possible AND that Mainstream #media outlets have experts cover and analyze it in detail.
