  1. @daltonator You can get the #January6Report free from the feds. I did the day it came out. Can I provide you with the address? No. Suggest you search on it with one of the key words being .gov. When I was searching, I did see any number of non-free versions, generally they put a fancy cover on the thing and had somebody or other add an editorial commentary. Then again, I think I got it from the committee’s website. That’s likely gone, I suppose.

  2. "If you are reaching for optimism—and despair is not an option—the existence and the depth of the committee’s project represents a kind of hope."

  3. I want Samuel L Jackson to do the audible version of the #January6Report

  4. “Our country has come too far to allow a defeated #President to turn himself into a successful #tyrant by upending our #democratic institutions, fomenting violence, and, as I saw it, opening the door to those in our country whose hatred and bigotry threaten equality and justice for all Americans.” —Congressman #BennieThompson #January6Report january6th.house.gov/sites/dem

  5. The #January6Report and Committee have done a great public service. But in focusing *so much* on the events leading up to Jan 6, they failed to focus adequately on the systemic threats to American democracy that have continued for the past 2 years. My @BrennanCenter colleagues have an excellent piece on this that you must read: brennancenter.org/our-work/res

  6. @marcelias This is such a good point, crucial really. This is evidence that Trump knew he had lost. And therefore his multiple attempts to overturn (steal) the election are insurrection. Period. Lock him up.

  7. Perhaps I’m being jejune, but, independently of the #January6Report and the findings of the Commission, doesn’t Trump’s recent call for termination of the Constitution on Truth Social make him incapable of taking the Oath of Office and therefore, ever holding office again?

I like presidents who aren't recommended to the DoJ for criminal charges. #politics #January6Report #January6thCommittee #TFG

  9. The thing about a functional democracy is that we don’t jail our political opponents after they lose

    unless they have committed crimes.

  10. Fr law prof, Barb McQuade , “I am impressed with the January 6 Committee’s report. It reads like a prosecution memo. I see the fingerprints of committee counsel Tim Heaphy, a former U.S. Attorney, all over this. Some of the proposed charges were expected. Two others are intriguing.”

#January6Report The Jan. 6 committee just lowered the boom on #Trump. Now the ball is in DOJ’s court washingtonpost.com/opinions/20

  11. Per @rvawonk as reported by Politico: “The Jan. 6 select committee is preparing to vote on urging the Justice Department to pursue at least three criminal charges against former President Donald #Trump, including insurrection.” #January6Report

  12. I hope this situation doesn’t devolve into ego feuds. Considering that the Republicans and Trump are going to lie like rugs when the GOP takes the House, it’s imperative that the report be as comprehensive and wide-ranging as possible AND that Mainstream #media outlets have experts cover and analyze it in detail. The record needs to be set straight. Big Lies must not prevail. #January6Report #TheBigLie #Justice #Journodons
