Dès lors que le geste de nomination ne relève pas d’une négociation interpersonnelle (dans quelle mesure puis-je appeler inceste ce que x ne désigne pas ainsi ?), mais d’une énonciation collective (« C’est à la société, aux tiers, à toi, de le faire », p. 182) seule susceptible de « remettre le monde à l’endroit » (p. 227), on sort du cas de conscience individuel pour passer dans l’ordre d’une responsabilité éthique d’ordre social et politique."

I assumed I knew nothing of this musician and composer, as the name, face, and sound didn’t ring any bells whatsoever. But then Wikipedia told me that Tiersen did the score/soundtrack for the French film Amélie! Mon dieu, I love Amélie!
While only one or maybe two tracks on this album remind me of Amélie, it does makes me think it could be a soundtrack to an as-yet unseen film. It’s positively full of absolute gems and a whole swirl of moods, and it also features a nice handful of collaborators including Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins, Stuart A. Staples of the Tindersticks, and the legendary Jane Birkin.
Given that Tiersen’s work apparently is often compared with that of Philip Glass and Michael Nyman, it’s safe to say that his work is right up my alley. I plan on checking it all out, tout de suite, starting with his most recent work up on Bandcamp. In fact, as I am writing, I randomly clicked on the cover I liked best in his Bandcamp – Portrait (2019) – and the very first song features not only Stephen O’Malley of Sunn O))), but also harpischord. I’m in love.

Et de poursuivre : "Quand j'enviais ma sœur [Charlotte Gainsbourg], qui vivait dans de super appartements, il me regardait avec dégoût". Si Lou Doillon s'est lancée dans une carrière d'actrice, c'était donc pour essayer de se rapprocher de ce père évitant. "Mon père paraissait rentrer (à la maison) à reculons, comme s'il ne songeait qu'à fuir, à retourner à son projet, explique-t-elle. Si j'ai voulu être comédienne, c'était avant tout pour le voir à l'endroit où il était bien. Partager ça avec lui".
