Mulla ja kaverilla on yks yhteinen suosikkipeli PC:llä: Jagged Alliance 2.
Tää näkyy edelleenkin aika-ajoin niin, että sen pariin on päästävä, oli sitä asennettuna tai ei.
Illalla iski sellainen ajatus, että saiskohan ton Linuxilla toimimaan....muistaakseni ihan uusimmilla windows pc:illäkin sen toimimaan saaminen vaati ihmeen, aivokirurgiaa, kvanttimekaniikkaa, Sormuksen Ritareita ja juhannustaikoja. Kaverillekin tästä ajatuksesta mainitsin ja taisi hänkin lähteä asennuslevykettä kaivelemaan komeronsa kätköistä nostalgiapärinöissään 😄
Täytyypä vähän selvitellä.

Uh… that was a horrible "WYSIWYG" website editor from Microsoft in case you don't remember. #JaggedAlliance2, the game in which this virtual mail application and those virtual websites appear, has aged a bit better, thankfully.

#JaggedAlliance2 has no initiative order. Instead there is only an alternating Player's Turn and Enemy Turn.
This means that during the Enemy Turn, you have to sit through all the enemy characters doing all their actions in one big block before it's your turn to make any inputs again. Which is bad.
But in return, you can have your own characters coordinate their actions in really interesting way, since you can switch characters after each individual action is performed.

CW: Jagged Alliance 2 is brutal
Man, #JaggedAlliance2 can be brutal.
It has very low fidelity graphics and doesn't even have pixelated sprite gore like Fallout. But there is so much story that systemic game design can produce even when you don't really see much.I just had my first big battle, defending a town against a military retaliation alongside a rebel militia.
And there were rebels shooting injured soldiers on the ground point blank, or running up to them to stab them. 😮 -
Making progress in #JaggedAlliance2
Man, taking the Drassen Mine is so much easier than taking the Airport. I wasted several days and a lot of health taking the airfield. Taking the mine was a matter of minutes with not a single injury.
I think the game could have been more explicit that taking the Drassen Mine should be your first major objective to not get broke.
But I'm really loving this game. Should have played it 20 years ago, but it's still awesome today.

Vaikka #muutto oli viime syksynä, niin vielä löytyy purkamattomia muuttolaatikoita, joissa on kaikenmoista tavaraa.
En muistanut, että tämmöinenkin oli mulla vielä tallessa. Osuu hyvin tähän #kesäloma-aikaan, kun oon vaan pelannut ja hehkuttanut #jaggedalliance3:a.🤓 #jaggedalliance2 #videopelit

Tak som včera konečne rozohral nový #JaggedAlliance3 a hneď na úvod ma tam úplne rozbil ten I.M.P. test, ako za starých dobrých čias. Už dlho som sa u hry tak dobre nezasmial 🤣 Ale koruna najlepších odpovedí zostáva #JaggedAlliance2. Na hlášky "Jednoduše stisknu "R" jako Raketomet" a "Psychickým Paprskem Smrti ho vytlačím ze silnice" za volantom spomínam bežne, keď stretnem nejakého blbca na cestách 😅

Tak jsem k narozkám dostal #JaggedAlliance3, která má vyjít 14.7. .. jestli to bude aspoň z půlky tak dobrý, jako #JaggedAlliance2, tak budu mít na hodně dlouho co dělat.
#FunFact - i když jsem dvojku hrál asi milionkrát a vždycky mě to strašně bavilo, reálně jsem nikdy nedostal Deidrannu
