Now here's the really fucked up part.
Ever since spending 2020 learning about housing insecurity from homeless protesters I have always feared that Republicans & Dems would agree on rounding up an jailing the homeless.
By the time of the Grant's Pass in the last 3years it was CLEAR to me that Trump would use ICE to target homeless immigrants... bc who will actually protect the homeless???
Certainly not neo-liberals and their base.
Here comes Frey, FULLY confirming my prediction.

This week Minneapolis' liberal mayor, Jacob Frey, VETOED a bill that passed the city council aimed at help everyone & immigrants prevent eviction.
The bill required that landlords negotiate must wait a minimum of 60days prior to evicting a tenant.
For Frey, that bill was not neo-liberal enough. Instead of BROAD tenant protections he wants a means-tested housing assistance program with littles funds that run dry FAST.

If the #Democrats are voting for the DHS Funding Bill in Senate next week the #US will see the difference between the SA and the SS.
And the SS is the tool that Trump still lacks. And with the funding he can stage an operation to integrate all national guard members into the #DHS structure.

He points out the conservative states have FAR more illegal alieans. Meanwhile Minneapolis has HALF the national rate of undocumented residents.
Frey acknowdleged the flood of feds outnumbering local cops.
Lastly this is cost his city a TON economically. Millions of police overtime have already been spent.
