Hey #Texas Pocket Friends: The #RossFire is spreading fast in Palo Pinto and Jack counties. 50,000 acres are burning, it's only 12% contained, and the winds are picking up, 20mph constant from the SW, with gusts expected up to 40 mph. It's hot, it's dry, it's drought and everything, and I mean everything is likely to catch on fire. It's been months since we've had measurable rain, and the grasslands are dry tinder.

    If you are in the area, please keep your emergency alert system up. Get a bugout bag ready. Passports, important documents, pet carriers. Cell phones charged. Battery bank.

    An evacuation center has been set up at Twin Lake Recreation Center on Highway 59 in Jacksboro.
