Well, theres strong demand but divergent availability of supply. In #MURB #condo projects >80% of people are requesting NACS over #J1772, and for good reason. With almost all OEMs adopting NACS for the 2025 model year it makes perfect sense. For #EV owners with older cars, NACS>J1772 adapters are readily available for about $125.
The supply uncertainty is enabling some hardware makers to raise prices on the new ports. Perhaps we’ll see discounts on J1772 stock in short order. #YVR

The J3400 is now the official EV charging port standard in North America. One. Standard.
This will save huge amount of money, and increase convienience, productivty, for everyone.
And it won’t be proprietary.
It only took 30 years to get here.

This isn't just a big deal for the future of Tesla. This is a big deal for the entirety of the EV industry.
I don't think this will halt the adoption of J3400 charging, but it looks like access to the Tesla Supercharger network may be in contention. And it sounds like the Supercharger network may be halting expansion and upgrades after current action plans conclude.
I guess we'll see where this goes.

@bydnews I believe you are referring to IEC 62196, which includes multiple connection types. It’s not a single connection standard. However, there is a communication protocol used with the CCS side of things that NACS implements, so adaptors can exist without the need for translation.
If there’s concerns over isolation because of a charging connector, we’re already there via the international standard all by itself.
