Indiana women’s basketball adds sixth-ranked class of 2026, per ESPN
"The Hoosiers officially signed four players for the class of 2026 on Wednesday: guards Ashlinn James and GiGi Battle, wing Addison Nyemchek, and center Zoe Jackson. ESPN ranked Indiana’s class the sixth-best in the country."
Should put them right back in the tournament mix! But I don't know how NIL is affecting the women's game, or whether IU is willing to pony up for it.

Best of luck to the new Hoosiers basketball coach. There is a lot of flux right now, but I think it's safe to say that the strategy of paying a coach gazillions of dollars to find the best players willing to play for free is over. Players will have to be enticed with NIL cash, and lots of it, since Indiana has no natural advantages like oceans or mountains, and plenty of obstacles like bad government and racism. We'll see what happens.

Why the university sent a record $34 million to Indiana Athletics
Well, to juice up the football program, of course, and get their hands on more of that sweet, sweet Big Ten TV money. But it's like ten times more than they've ever sent to athletics before. So hopefully the athletics department will be able to pay it back and they won't have to cut, say, the entire journalism school to pay for it.
