Life is proceeding quite pleasantly at the moment! Temperatures have been low and snowfall has been high, making for crappy driving and beautiful landscapes. Bestie and I walk and consume coffee and baked goods on Thursday mornings.
Lots of #sewing and #korean #LanguageLearning is occurring and I won the "Gwenchana" hoodie, which I hope to modify with an added #pocket.
Yogurt is currently being made and I'm making many more connections and purchases for my upcoming #korea #travel

Yes. I primarily sew because #pockets! Everything I sew has pockets and I've gone back and added 5x7" pockets to my knit garments with black jersey that I have on hand. On woven garments, I typically cut out 8x8" for the pockets so I can lay a phone in sideways (more secure. Placement of the pockets is important, as is depth so I keep experimenting with locations that will hold valuables secure when sitting or standing.

Please share your results! This last week, I determined that 5x7" were the perfect dimensions for a stretch #pocket to add to the numerous knit garments that I have, mistakenly made without #pockets. I've remedied that on several used garments and added a phone pocket to a newly-made garment.

I'm pretty happy with the Chanterelle Pants by Sew Liberated. The most critical thing for pants is the rise, front and back. Anyway, this particular pattern and a PJ pattern that I got from the big sewing shops both fit me well where it counts. I also REALLY like the deep pockets that are sewn on. I first made the shorts from a used flannelette sheet to wear as PJs and I really liked them. What we like is personal, of course. #sewing #ItHasPockets

Haha, customized #pockets are a GREAT reason to learn how to sew!!
I've been at it as my main activity now for about 3 years and I've assembled a shocking number of personalized garments. Currently working on bralets, which will require further tweaking but are perfectly functional for home days. Finding thrifted fabric has been a game-changer since it's freeing to know that your material was nearly free and headed for a landfill.

Yep. Fifty pence in a charity shop, you literally can't go wrong.

I made this over the summer in preparation for our big family holiday, and remember I had to ask for help with gathering over at @sewing because it was being a nightmare and I am a noob. Worked out pretty well in the end, though! (Thank you Lemmy folks for the advice)

Lots of firsts with this skirt! Well, two firsts. I put pockets into a pattern that didn't have them, and also drafted a curved waistband so it would actually fit. Felt pretty pro after all that, I won't lie 😎

I finished up this #StasiaDress rather perfectly with lovely thrifted fabric except for the fact that this fabric hasn't nearly as much ease as the pattern requires. I'm afraid there'll be a boob explosion if I wear it publicly. It is super comfy otherwise and #ItHasPockets
