  1. I've been putting this off for over a month now, ever since I saw @travis post about it last December, but I finally filled out the paperwork and now my background check is processing to volunteer for #itdrc

I'll be happy to put my tech skills to good use while helping my community!

  2. Got started on one of my 2025 goals early: started getting my membership back in order with the ITDRC. I’ve been a volunteer with the ITDRC since 2018 and looking forward to getting back into things! If you have an IT background and have some time to dedicate, come join me! #itdrc #volunteering

  3. If you live in the US, work with IT, and want to help with responding to events such as #HurricaneHelene (and now #HurricaneMilton ), consider volunteering with #ITDRC - itdrc.org/volunteering-with-it

Whether it is actually deploying in the field to help set up WiFi and charging stations, or helping remotely, VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! You can sign up at that link to help with connecting communities in crisis. (Currently ITDRC is US-based, but other similar orgs are out there in other places.)

  4. CW: Emergency preparedness, ham radio, a thread

@eheisman @kc2ihx I agree with most of what you have said--as a former member of #ARES #RACES #SKYWARN & #CERT in #princegeorgescounty #maryland I have found that the Information Technology #Disaster Resource Center #itdrc has a more up-to-date and relevant model. But of course, there should be #MOUs in place with the more traditional #disasterRecovery groups itdrc.org/
