  1. I've also tried to have #itch_io host a web version of the game, but for some reason, after I've exported the game as such the game rendered the 3D with dark coloring and flashing. 😲

    Anyone any ideas why?

  15. Today a testplay failed, because the game didn't run on the testers device.

    After some debugging (thx) it turned out that very important parts of the downloaded zip were missing.

    I'm not sure if the tester deleted the files or an antivirus deleted them for some reason. I'm very sure that the files were there when the zip left the server.

    This is the second time something went wrong with unzipping the archive.

    We agreed to continue testing when steam is ready.

    This will be the last meta post for a while, but it is one of the big milestones in the live of a gamedev.

    The game is not done, the demo is not yet done and i created an itchio page to find playtesters.

    The goal was to get feeback on the demo release, build interest and then make a sale.

    Somebody sidestepped all of that and bought a copy right away :-)

    Now i am duty bound to actually release the game.

  27. I updated my itch.io cover for my game, because the click trough rate (ctr) was 0.36%.

    That means that 1387 people were shown my game in a list of games and only 5 people clicked on my game.

    The players at that point only see the cover image, the name and a one sentence description.

    My old cover was just the logo text, then i tried a scene from a room. And both looked very ugly between the other games, so i built more fancy one :-)

    I have put this off for way too long, but i finally did it:

    That doesn't mean the game is released yet, or that the demo is released yet, but it means binaries to playtest the demo are available.

    One side effect is that i finally have a linux binary that can be started with adouble click. It even works on some systems.
