When the ethnic cleansing is not 100% of the population? When the killings of an ethnic community does not amout to 100% of the its numbers? By this reckoning, the Holocaust was ethnic cleansing then… How abhorant is this play on words when faced with the resolute and calculated mass killings committed by #Israel. I also welcome the lastest condemnations (from twelve coutries… so far) of Isreal, its govt and the military. Sanctions do not go far enough. It has said that criticising anyone for being Jewish is unacceptable. At the same time, it has made entirely clear its view that criticising the Israeli government is not an act of antisemitism, because, of course, it never could have been.
It has made clear that Israeli occupation of the West Bank is illegal, which as a matter of fact, it is.
It has said that Israeli action in Gaza amounts to ethnic cleansing, because that is what it is and what it has been from the outset.
It has not yet said that the Israeli government has committed genocide, but it has made very clear that it is inclined to think that is the case and that it would support legal action to confirm that opinion.
These are major restatements of UK foreign policy, and without exception they are welcome.”

The plan to displace (or to "temporarily move") #Palestinians from #Gaza is not a new idea.
In fact, it was suggested by the #Isreali government when they started the war with #Palestine.
At that time it caused backlash and the Isrealis had to do damage control, saying stuff like "it was really just a draft of an idea by some consultant".
Make no mistake, if Palestinians get removed from Gaza they'll never be let back in - or they'll be second class citizens in their own country.
