This week's demonstration for Palestine in Assen was in the city centre instead of at the station.

The car is a replica of that in which five year old Hind Rajab was murdered after watching five members of her family being shot next to her. There are 335 bullet holes in the car.

The weather was not kind to us this evening, but plenty of people stopped to listen for a while, to look at the car, or took information about Hind or about the Israeli genocide of Palestinians.

Zojuist heb ik https://youtube.com/watch?v=9pY5waRJF-M geheel uitgezeten. In bijna 54 minuten vertelt prof. John Mearsheimer over de geschiedenis van Israël en Palestina, en wat Hamas bracht tot hun uitbraak uit concentratiekamp Gaza op 7-10-'23. Ik ga daar later nog een aparte toot aan besteden (mijn bron daarvoor was https://toot.wales/@strangetown/117450592403977858). Er valt wel wat op aan te merken, maar de historische quotes van o.a. Ben-Gurion kende ik nog niet.

Wel zie ik de standpunten van Zionisten en anti-Zionisten verharden.

Uitsluitend van anti-Zionisten vind ik dat hartstikke begrijpelijk: onze glasharde argumenten worden nog steeds gepareerd met "Ja maar Hamas op 7-10-'23" en door anti-Zionisten antisemieten te noemen - terwijl Israël decennia voordat Hamas bestond al een terroristische organisatie was, hetgeen ná 7 oktober alleen maar veel erger is geworden.

En omdat Israël niet alleen *alle* Palestijnen (ook op de Westbank) terroriseert, maar ook o.a. Libanezen, Syriërs, Jordaniërs en Jemenieten.

Waarom worden in Nederland mensen met familie of vrienden in Gaza, de Westbank of Libanon anders behandeld dan mensen met familie of vrienden in Israël? Zelf heb ik overigens geen van beide; ik ben simpelweg voor gelijke rechten voor ieder mens.
