  1. CW: Social Software but not Social People...

@GossiTheDog People also make people better.
BUT software alone doesn't teach people how to be more social (at all). So without people pushing social it's mostly just great software sometimes with nobody pushing and reply and encouraged to reply. It's not really a movement of people which Mastodon kind of is as software but isn't manned as much else to really spread it's principles with everyone here mutual (a lot) but not really doing much about it or giving each other things to do (that kind of social like massive pub / go around tables / get there in the end kind of meet randoms).

Strangers are still seen as just that like everyone forgets how to meet / make new friends / cooperation.

I say this positively that there's a whole another #FediVerse (like another SpiderVerse / #Universe...) but basically people aren't that friendly to strangers (that's the #crux of #social we need to break to all become more friends and weed the rest out / upgrade them)

People are the same as the outside.

#Isolating and scared even though I wouldn't be able to do much from here but help them and give ideas which are the basis of all trying... And way too comfortable paying taxes.

#Harsh but very evident in a number of ways on #mastodon etc...

  2. A TV critic’s take on the Apple Vision Pro

Why does something that looks so good feel so bad?
    ...
That was wild enough, but later, when I tried shooting the twins in 3D and played the video back in “immersive” mode — which basically wraps you in the scene you filmed — I realized I was looking at a future superweapon

  11. Well, I went 3 years and 8 months after having a #cold or #flu late December 2019 / early January 2020. Since the outbreak probably came through LAX near where I work, it was probably early #COVID-19 and it was horrible, with carry-on symptoms lasting almost a month.

Last week, I needed to attend a tech conference in Las Vegas for work. I saw masks a total of 5 times, besides my own. I aways wore my mask, but then there was this young guy in a black baseball cap, coughing and hacking in a gift shop, sounding almost like whooping cough, not masking, not even covering his mouth. Just shopping with his female friend without a care.

    /You know who you are./

    #DeleteImageAltText: A positive COVID-19 test.

Is it too much to ask that you wear a mask when you are sick and have to go out of the house? Everyone is Asia does this...

Even a KN95 mask with a good seal can't keep that kind of dose of virus out, however.

Tell your #journalists and #writers to get over themselves and stop #isolating & #insulting us.

  22. If you're in Australia, many public libraries have a FREE homebound book delivery program for people who can't physically get to the library. Volunteers drop books around every 14 days, and take the old books away, and you can do it without face-to-face contact (just leave the books in a rainproof plastic box on your doormat the night before.) You choose the books that you want via the libraries online catalogue, or you can ask "choose some graphic novels for me" "choose some science fiction for me" etc and let the library pick your books.

If this is you, it's worth contacting your local library and asking.
