  4. A TV critic’s take on the Apple Vision Pro

Why does something that looks so good feel so bad?
    ...
That was wild enough, but later, when I tried shooting the twins in 3D and played the video back in “immersive” mode — which basically wraps you in the scene you filmed — I realized I was looking at a future superweapon

From passive #avoidance or low key #isolating, even when in #relationships, to only feeling #safe alone or with #pets or #kids, Complex #PTSD (#CPTSD) can impact how we regulate ourselves and #triggers, how people #trigger us, and how our inner and outer #critic can sabotage #connection, #vulnerability and relationships with ourselves and others.

  6. Well, I went 3 years and 8 months after having a #cold or #flu late December 2019 / early January 2020. Since the outbreak probably came through LAX near where I work, it was probably early #COVID-19 and it was horrible, with carry-on symptoms lasting almost a month.

Last week, I needed to attend a tech conference in Las Vegas for work. I saw masks a total of 5 times, besides my own. I aways wore my mask, but then there was this young guy in a black baseball cap, coughing and hacking in a gift shop, sounding almost like whooping cough, not masking, not even covering his mouth. Just shopping with his female friend without a care.

    #DeleteImageAltText: A positive COVID-19 test.

Is it too much to ask that you wear a mask when you are sick and have to go out of the house? Everyone is Asia does this...

Even a KN95 mask with a good seal can't keep that kind of dose of virus out, however.

Lauren Eggenberger, 3rd year Southern #Medical Program student based at #UBC Okanagan published #research examining #ramifications of #maternal evacuation—those who need to #travel to give birth. Only 4 of 33 communities in #NWT have #maternity care - 40%+ of #women must travel at least 100km.

"For many years, #perinatal travel has been an #oppressive and #isolating process for #Dene , #Métis and #Inuvialuit women in the #NorthwestTerritories "

  9. If you're in Australia, many public libraries have a FREE homebound book delivery program for people who can't physically get to the library. Volunteers drop books around every 14 days, and take the old books away, and you can do it without face-to-face contact (just leave the books in a rainproof plastic box on your doormat the night before.) You choose the books that you want via the libraries online catalogue, or you can ask "choose some graphic novels for me" "choose some science fiction for me" etc and let the library pick your books.

If this is you, it's worth contacting your local library and asking.
