The Lochbuie Stone Circle stands in the shadow of beautiful Ben Buie.
The only stone circle on the Isle of Mull, it originally comprised nine granite stones. Eight remain standing today, while the ninth has been replaced by a low boulder to mark its original position.
Getting to the circle involves navigating a narrow, twisty road then following a vague and boggy path across moorland and sheep pasture.

I try to avoid taking photos through the window of a moving car — especially when I'm sitting on the wrong side and have to lean across the seat and keep my balance while taking the picture one-handed through a rain-splattered window. But I'd just been on a boggy hike in a downpour, was soaked through, and felt I really deserved a photo of a rainbow.
