The fact mainstream #media almost exclusively reports on the #UHC murder investigation but little on the public being pleased is such a HUGE failing. I’ve seen maybe one article on the matter. Seriously, our #healthcare is so broken that the public applauds a CEO’s death and the media is so lacking that they’d produce more #nothingburger articles on minor updates than dig deeper into the reaction.

Is anyone here using Ubuntu 24.04 and have noticed that Nautilus performs *SO MUCH WORSE* than previous releases? Like, there will often be a few seconds of lag when switching between directories and I swear this wasn't the case in 22.04. Navigating around my filesystem used to feel snappy and now it feels super sluggish at times.

I don't know where to ask so I'm yelling into the fediVoid: Which is the 'favorites' button gone on posts in Mastodon? I can 'boost', reply, or use the three-dot menu button to bookmark. But I cannot for the life of me find the 'favorite' button. (I can see my list of favorites still, I just can no longer add to them)

#TouchTyping failure modes - while my typing skills are pretty informally learned, they're generally fairly reliable. But the most common failure mode seems to be the two hands getting out of sync with each other, so (eg) I'll get the left-hand's letters of a word before, or overlapping with, the right hand's. Is this a common failure mode or #isItJustMe?

Is it just me, or do others agree: the 😕 emoji doesn't really look "confused" so much as moderately distressed or vaguely unsettled? Sort of like, "I don't really like it, but I'm not sure if it's worth saying anything about it"? Whereas it should convey, "WTF is even going on here? I don't understand." #emoji #IsItJustMe

A lot of the #British #artisan and #boujie #bakeries and #breadmaking indie businesses in local towns and villages seem to thrive on making #sourdough bread. Personally? I find it irks the gut and is awful to digest.

Can we go back to having a corker of a #farmhouse white, hot from the #oven, so I can race home with it to smother it in salted #butter and best #jam?

I have a #breadmaking machine at home, but sometimes its nice for others to do the baking for me.
