Der wirtschaftlich motivierte #Eigenverbrauch von #Solarstrom steigt in Deutschland deutlich.
Laut Analyse des #Fraunhofer #ISE lag er 2024 bei 12,28 TWh und machte 17 Prozent der PV Nettostromerzeugung aus. Hohe #Strompreise und der zunehmende Einsatz von #Batteriespeichern treiben diese Entwicklung weiter an. Haushalte profitieren besonders, wenn der selbst erzeugte Strom auch #Wärmepumpen oder #Elektroautos versorgt.

My second #ISE show has concluded, and I think my 5th #Barcelona trip. The show is completely overwhelming, and while there’s not a lot of big technology changes in a year, it’s helpful to be in the same rooms as everyone else in the industry for a few days, and in this case, great to be out here with some very important clients.
Barcelona is such a special place, and I know it’s become a victim of its own success. I wouldn’t dare to come here in peak season, and will only ever stay in hotels, because fuck air bnb and real estate investors.
Every time I ride their metro, I’m left wondering why they can manage to run clean, ad-free trains every hundred seconds on a hundred year old system, while back in #NYC, we’ve got to plaster video ads on every square inch, and still can only barely manage to keep the whole thing from collapsing. -

Riesenhallen, überall lärmt und blinkt es, unzählige Menschen rennen mit Badges um den Hals wild herum, einer ist wichtiger als der andere, niemand interessiert sich wirklich für die Exponate der anderen, alle labern irgendwas inhaltleeres daher. Deutlich mehr männlich gelesene Personen, die wenigen weiblichen sind offenbar geklont und in den Parfümtank gefallen. Willaufnarm.

This was in the 2015-2020 timeframe.
Since then we've installed several racks with linux servers. Hired an engineer reporting to our department to manage everything. And another to manage test automation.
And finally this past month we decommissioned the last windows machine our department was holding on to to run legacy #Xilinx #ISE builds. I ported those scripts to #linux.
All this because IT was not providing service and treated us as untrusted threats in their threat modelling.

Das muss in ein größeres Paket integriert werden.
Ein Hersteller-Support wird im Hintergrund abgeschlossen. Aber der Hersteller interessiert sich idR nicht für das Setup und ist daher beim "am Leben erhalten" nur begrenzt hilfreich.

#RepairEconomy Reinvigorated in Central #NewYork, #Syracuse Institute Leads the Charge

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK — "Broken lamps, torn clothes, a coffee machine that just won’t work — items like these are common in most households, and all too commonly wind up in the trash bin. Thanks to cheap replacements and a struggling repair economy, #consumerism —and waste — is at an all-time high. In the wake of #tariffs, #ClimateChange, and rapidly shrinking NYS #landfill capacity, a rising repair movement in Central New York is pushing back against the status quo.
"The Repair Cafe held on Saturday, May 10 embodies a social movement shaped by residents, #activists, and community leaders who want to reduce waste through building strong community networks. The event was facilitated by #RepairCafeCNY, an organization established by the Institute for Sustainability Engagement (#ISE) as an offshoot of the global #RepairCafe network. The group aims to reinvigorate repair in Syracuse and the greater CNY region by serving as a central coordinator for free community repair events in the area.
"Repair Cafes are not a new concept to the area. The last known effort locally was that of the Syracuse Repair Cafe, which was operational for a few years before the pandemic halted operations. With repair energy now reinvigorated, organizers hope for the Syracuse Repair Cafe’s soon return."

Die Integrated Systems Europe in Barcelona kennt fast keiner. Und doch ist die Technikmesse mit 85.000 Fachbesuchern nicht allzu weit entfernt von Größen wie der CES oder der Ifa. Spannend ist sie sowieso, das konnte ich Anfang 2025 schon in Barcelona erleben. In München gab's vor kurzem aktuelle Informationen zur ISE 2026.

@terliwetter Es geht aber innerhalb von 10-15 Jahren, wie in vielen Studien (#DIW, #ISE, #SEBA) gezeigt wurde. Viel Erneuerbare (200 GW Wind + 600 GW PV) und die Elektrifizierung aller Sektoren (Wärmepumpen, eAutos, eÖPNV) kombiniert mit einer Ernährungswende (weniger Fleisch) und #Agrarwende und einer #Kreislaufwirtschaft führen dazu, dass wir als Gesellschaft/Zivilisation eine Zukunft haben.
