Blood flow restriction in the hind leg of a mouse resulted in long-lasting changes to gene expression in bone marrow stem cells that shift the mixture of immune cells toward a more cancer-tolerant combination, accelerating the growth of breast cancers in the mice. This has implications for those with ischemia from CVD or other causes.
