I know it's a tough neighborhood and all that, but I wonder whether the Israeli government has made not only an ethical but also a political mistake in its support for Azerbaijan.

The current Iranian government is deeply hostile to Israel, but I am not sure that the crackerbarrel "realism" of "my enemy's enemy is my friend" serves Israel well here. Israeli security will depend on a renunciation of irredentism and the acceptance of national, ethnic, and religious pluralism and peaceful coexistence throughout the region; I'm not convinced that arming autocrats so that they can carry out ethnic cleansing contributes to this long term goal.
