Some random #IRphotography shots of the south end of Lake Tahoe from the Heavenly Observation deck with my modified Canon EOS 350D.
The camera captures the "near Infrared" spectrum into the lower half of the visible color spectrum (~590nm filter equivalent).

IR Point and Shoot Has a Raspberry Heart in a 35mm Body - Photography is great, but sometimes it can get boring just reusing the same wavele... - https://hackaday.com/2025/07/07/ir-point-and-shoot-has-a-raspberry-heart-in-a-35mm-body/ #diyinfraredcamera #irphotography #news #noir

Should I be worried?
I converted a Lumix FZ35 to shoot infrared by taking it apart and removing the IR filter that blocks it out in most cameras, and this is the result.
It's really interesting to see what materials are bright in infrared and which ones aren't. -
Another #multispectrum image showing #infrared and #ultraviolet light in red and blue, respectively. Note how the blue UV light glitters and reflects from the edges of the petals, while the interior of the petals and the stalk in the background glows red from reflected IR (the “Wood Effect”).

Latest #multispectrum image, showing what a flower might look like if we saw beyond visible light into the UV and IR spectra.
I’ve mapped IR light to red and UV light to blue, and added them to the existing red and blue data from the ordinary RGB image (included for comparison). Notice how the spots on the petals reflect IR light (and thus glow red), and how outer parts of the petals reflect more UV (blue).
