First iris reticulata in flower! We planted the bulbs last autumn and I’ve been checking for flowers daily for the past week. Two more had buds showing, which means the flowers should open tomorrow!

I grew this rather lovely dwarf iris for the first time this year.

I love these iris particularly in pots where you can place them high up and enjoy the flowers close-up.

I love these iris particularly in pots where you can place them high up and enjoy the flowers close-up.

Today I have for you the joyous iris reticulata with the stems of cornus alba Sibirica. I took this picture on the 26th of February last year. My big goal with developing the new, "winter" part of the garden is to get this kind of colour early in February, January if I can manage it.
