@imagictony @mnutty first Twitter mass migration (November 22), there was discussions as to what to call the Irish mastodon users. On Twitter if I recall correctly the grouping went by #irishtwitter. Anyhoo, with a little discussion the consensus emerged to be #mastodaoine -a mash up of mastodon and the Irish language word for people 'daoine', #mastodaoine... Or something like that. The stuff of legends like John and Jean Mastodon 😀

I made this post last night about a (really badly designed, neoliberal) survey on #ClimateChange from the Irish government on both twitter and #Mastodon at the same time.

Both have the same number of RTs/Boosts as of now. I wonder if Mastodaoine, #IrishMastodon is getting enough mass to make it a good place to share and discuss for #IrishPolitics. #irlpol
