I remember hearing Sean Quinn singing this song in the Harbour Bar in Newcastle, Co Down 1966 or 67 when I was 15 or 16. This and other songs like it sparked an interest in Irish music that continues to today.

I bought a copy of Last Night's Fun by Ciaran Carson many years ago. I foolishly lent it someone who never gave it back. I hope you're enjoying it!
So I bought it again. Don't bother asking if you can borrow this one.

Spare a thought for all the barstaff of Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare today.
Tis the start of The Willy Clancy school of music and #Clare are playing #Kilkenny in the hurling. The Clare captain is a Malbay man so that only adds to it.
There won't be an untapped keg left in the place by midnight if they win. 😆 :pint:

My daughter Anna Sweeney is releasing an EP called First Drop this Friday. A 17-year-old fiddle/violin player &composer, this is her first time putting some of her own music out there. The EP has been her main project during Transition Year, a school year in Ireland in between exam cycles, during which you have time to explore interests and gain work experience.
Expect trad-influenced cinematic sounds, with a teenage sense of drama! 🙂

I’m going to attend a pipers weekend in January where I’ll take 8+ hours of lessons with Jerry O’Sullivan 😍 I’m discovering his discography and realizing he was playing on some of my favorite albums (Eileen Ivers’ 1995 Wild Blue). #UilleannPipes #IrishTradMusic #IrishTraditionalMusic
