Overwhelming public opinion isn't enough in the face of government's plans to scrap the triple lock and Irish neutrality.
People have to get organised in their communities, in their workplaces, on the street to build a movement to defend Irish neutrality.
The fuel protests proved very effectively that protests work. Militant protests are what is needed.

The Science and Technology Act 1987 obliges the IDA and Enterprise Ireland to get Government approval if they want to give public money to companies who may be involved in servicing military activities. This Government wants to end that public oversight. 😡
And note the #defencewashing of the military industrial complex.

€150 Billion euro to be paid by the public to funnel money into EU arms corporations!
The government is signing us up to 'SAFE', a European armament programme as part of 'Rearm Europe'.
No debate, no motion in the Dáil, no say for the people. Disgrace.

The European Commission's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, has suggested that #Ireland is attached to neutrality because the Irish lack an understanding of "atrocities, mass deportations", and "suppression of culture and language."

The government claims we need to spend billions on fighter jets, bombs, and defence contracts due to an "imminent threat" to Ireland’s security. In reality, this push is about meeting NATO’s minimum spending requirements. Instead of wasting hundreds of millions on jet fighters, we should invest in our public services and the many social crisis affecting Ireland.
