And the vote transfers… The fact that Daly was getting more far-right transfers than any other non-right candidate is telling, as is the 4.5k of her votes going to Niall Boylan, and 358 votes she got from the fcn Dwyer

Things that fascinate me, a citizen of an authoritarian state, in these elections (a thread, maybe):
- How genuinely happy the candidates are when their win is announced.
(And the anticipation and excitement are almost like watching sports)
When you have mock elections and the winners are known even before the count starts, everyone has grave and bored faces, and the whole process of counting is viewed as an unpleasant and unnecessary routine.

The biggest mystery of this local elections is the people who vote 1 for the far-right and then apparently vote for PBP when they’re out of nazy options on the ballot.

If I had 10 candidates on the ballot, and there are 3 of them that I ABSOLUTELY NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE WANT TO SEE COMING TO POWER, how should I vote?
In my logic, I should assign my votes 1-7 to the candidates I’m okay with, and skip assigning numbers to the 3 "nope" candidates.”
Is that right? So they don’t get any votes from me at all? -
