There’s a lot of reasons to be opposed to USA war in Iran, but my conviction that any action we take will only leave the world in a worse place is at the top of my list. This administration is laughably incompetent compared to the one that started the US invasion in Iraq in 2003, and we saw how that turned out.

As someone who was born just a couple years before the Fall of Saigon and who remembers very well the quagmire of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, I can’t understand how anyone older than me can be anything but appalled at the war with Venezuela in 2026, especially with what appears to be no concrete plan on how they are going to achieve success. Have you idiots learned nothing from these painful lessons?

Hilarious headline in my email inbox: MORRISON GOVERNMENT FAILEDthe hidden text actually reveals
“Morrison government failed to hand over some 2003 national security records to archives In a statement, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet said the transfer of a "small number" of 2003 cabinet records did not happen, due to "apparent administrative oversights" likely caused by disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic.”if i wasn’t so cynical about lib/np values i’d just assume they are incompetent, with all the mistakes they make 🙄

"After 2003 [..] #Iraq became an open theatre for the so-called #WarOnTerror. [..] The latest figure I read is that the total of Iraqis who were displaced and had to leave their homes was 8 million. Ethnic cleansing took place because of the occupation."
