Czy tajemnicze urządzenie Apple 18,8” to składany iPhone?
Apple pracuje nad dwoma składanymi urządzeniami: iPhonem 18 Fold, którego premiera planowana jest na drugą połowę 2026 roku, oraz większym 18,8-calowym urządzeniem składanym, prawdopodobnie będącym hybrydą MacBooka i iPada.
Analityk Jeff Pu z GF Securities twierdzi, że duży model może nie trafić do produkcji w 2026 roku, jak wcześniej zakładano. Nowa data premiery to najprawdopodobniej 2027.
Opinie analityków różnią się co do natury tego urządzenia:
- Ming-Chi Kuo i Ross Young określają je jako składany MacBook z dotykowym ekranem – wątpię w ten scenariusz.
- Mark Gurman i firma Omdia sugerują, że będzie to raczej iPad z dużym ekranem – najbardziej prawdopodobna wersja wydarzeń w mojej opinii.
- The Wall Street Journal wspomina nawet o 19-calowym składanym MacBooku.

iPhone Fold jest coraz bliżej debiutu – ma zadebiutować obok modeli iPhone 18 Pro w 2026 roku. Z najważniejszych informacji w tym temacie warto podkreślić:
- Apple weszło w etap P1 prototypów w czerwcu 2025. Oznacz to sporo pracy wykonano już nad pierwszymi, w pełni funkcjonalnymi egzemplarzami.
- Jeśli wszystko pójdzie zgodnie z planem, testy prototypów zakończą się do końca 2025 roku, po czym urządzenie wejdzie w fazę EVT (Engineering Verification Test)

The simple answer might be that like the iPhone, but unlike all existing iPads, you won’t be able to use the #iPadFold ‘upside-down’. The display won’t invert when the camera is positioned at the bottom to avoid confusion. But that doesn’t solve the weight distribution problem.

Another good point! Apple only recently moved the front camera to the ‘long’ side of recent iPads for use in landscape mode, so either way would be a move away from that. Logically, there’s got to be a preferred orientation, so the question is how will Apple indicate that? #iPadFold
