I like to think of the 1978 film as a sequel to the film from 1956. It even has Kevin McCarthy (from the 1956 film), in a cameo fleeing from a crowd in fear (possibly the pod people).

The 1978 film is in my opinion, another pod people outbreak in a different town.

Tonight's feature, #InvasionOfTheBodySnatchers, from 1978, is a remake of the 1956 original, and full of pod fun! We also had,
- Rat turd capers!
- Pod berries!
- Potato autopsy!
- Hallucinatory flu!
- Archery glove fashion!
- Human face dog!
- Oh, and a _lot_ of actual creepy scary stuff!

but also a great presence in scores of other network series including #TheTwilightZone (1961), #TheOuterLimits (1964/95), as The Great Paris in #MissionImpossible (1969-71), #NightGallery (1972) and #Columbo (1973). Brilliantly (and knowingly) cast as the San Francisco psychiatrist who falls to the Pod People in Philip Kaufman's #InvasionOfTheBodySnatchers (1978).
