That’s it for this week’s #Monsterdon. Loads of fun. It was great to compare this version of #InvadersFromMars to the original. There were aspects I liked from both, but I definitely liked the Martian creature effects in this one.

Tonight's feature, #InvadersFromMars is from 1986, and is a remake of the original 1953 film. We not only had full color, and big hair, but also:
- Coffee with Tic Tacs!
- Frog week!
- Original movie fence, hill, and path! You know the one.
- Mobile taxidermy van!
- A brain alien that looks like a mash up of ET and a toad, but in a good way!
- Brain stem implants!
- Great puppetry and practical effects!
- Penny powered ray gun! -
Well ... we all know what "mom and dad" were doing ...

I had no idea Louise Fletcher was so into sci-fi. She also starred in Strange Invaders (1983) along with Nancy Allen and Wallace Shawn.
