Getting ready to go to a volunteer award night to accept an award, as my partner and I were nominated for our work with the local basketball org.
I keep thinking about the various corporate trainings we’ve both had to do in the past where it talked about how you should ask your employees/colleagues etc if they prefer public thanks or private thanks.
And how confused all the extroverts would look at the very idea that a person might not want to be lauded publicly.
Yeah, we got nominated by an extrovert.

still others will retreat:
being in crowds is too great a feat
for their subtle souls
that play a different game
We watch from our high towers
as delicate as flowers
and give each our beating hearts

@Devils_Rancher @flisswave @MexicanYenta Also, I think the main reason @BitterOldPunk and I have stayed together & not killed each other even once is that he’s a morning person and I’m a night owl, so we each get a few hours alone, even during the pandemic.#IntrovertsUnite

It’s just this relentless treadmill of ‘fitting in’ and retaining or elevating their social standing by ‘being socially impressive’.I bet they’d like a rest too!
But the social disapproval and taint of ‘introversion’ or even worse, ‘being anti-social’ 😱 …would be too much to bear! -

I am an introvert too so I hear you on the exhaustion after public interaction. My family still finds it puzzling I chose a job that involves evaluating different people every week. That's at least structured... whereas just the idea of random small talk will have me fleeing in other settings. #IntrovertsUnite for sure!
