  1. What to expect: A guide for introverts

Joining a new group can feel like a "Hardware" overload. We designed the FediCollective to be different.

Here's the flow for our Brew & Build sessions so your nervous system knows what’s coming:

The Soft Landing: We meet in quiet, accessible Third Spaces like the Tommy Douglas community room of the Burnaby Public Library. No loud music or crowded bars.

The Small Circle: We limit groups to 9 people. This keeps the social "Software" from crashing.

Structured Flow: We use simple prompts for introductions. No need to "perform" or fight for a turn to speak.

Co-Working Peace: After we talk, we spend time working quietly together. It’s the "Math of Love" in action—being together without the pressure to talk.

We value presence over performance. If you need to step away or just listen, that’s respected here. This is a sober, inclusive container for your best ideas to grow.

  2. Oh joy, another guide for introverts to "network" by awkwardly hovering in the corner and hoping telepathy kicks in 🤞. Because what every introvert wants is a reminder of how invisible they are at social events 🥳. Let's all pretend this blog will solve centuries of social anxiety, one checklist at a time 📋.

  4. New Thinkydoers episode today:
For the quiet ones, the deep thinkers, and the socially anxious — this one’s for you.

This week, I’m joined by community strategist Carrie Melissa Jones for a conversation that flips the script on what it means to "belong."

We talk about creating spaces for connection that don’t require you to perform, show up constantly, or play pretend at extroversion.

  5. I walk a path unseen—
    not to hide,
    but to live free.

Every app I use is a rebellion.
Every setting I choose is a shield.
    I don’t live loud.
    I live real.
    Intentionally. Securely. Silently.

    I am not offline.
    I’m just off their grid.

  6. I don’t chase trends.
I seek silence, intention, and sovereignty.
In a world addicted to noise and surveillance, I choose tools that respect my space, my data, and my peace.

    No clutter. No tracking.
Just clarity, freedom, and control over my own digital existence.

This is more than minimalism—it’s survival with grace.

  7. Today is World Introvert Day! It seems a fitting moment to point out that one of the biggest misconceptions about someone being an introvert is that this means they will always avoid socialising or attending public events. Most introverts don't want to hide from the world all of the time; they just have a low social battery.

Every so often, someone will reply to one of my posts saying something along the lines of: 'An introvert would not travel or post on social media so frequently,' as if this is somehow a "gotcha" moment. I prefer quiet places and solitude, but I occasionally step out of my comfort zone. Although I spend most of my life shying away from social interaction and visiting crowded places, this does not mean that I want to lock myself away from the world all of the time.

  9. The #ITGuy reports his department’s holiday party was delayed by illness, rescheduled to this week.

“They made it mandatory. Otherwise no one would have gone.”
