Hi, I'm Marty. I'm an #introverted #actuallyAutistic developer from Adelaide, South Australia. I started playing with electronics in the early '70s, built my own computers during the late '70s and early '80s, and have been programming ever since.
These days I do a lot of iOS, macOS, and Android programming. Along with my son, I'm building an iOS game, a macOS weather app, and lots of internal-only projects.

My social battery burnt out so bad yesterday I'm barely managing to interact with my partners today. I didn't even want to start writing until well after lunch because I knew there would be conversations in today's scenes.

I used to think I was #introverted.
Socializing and public exhausts me, and I eventually get #overstimulated and #anxious and just need to leave, and find some peace alone.
However I think I am actually an #extrovert and socializing exhausts me due to having to constantly fight my #tourettes related tics, which almost never stop, and I have to focus and put effort into fighting, so I don't seem like a total manic.
So I need a break after a while.

Is there a term for a personality trait(?) that makes a person want to avoid personal pronouns for the self, particularly more than once, in a given message?
Trying to figure out of this is more of a component of being #neurodivergent, #introverted, or something else.
It leads to frequent and unusual sentences that start with the verb instead of a subject, which gets one more side-eye than might be preferred.
Doesn't really extend to others. Just don't like directly referencing myself.

I am what I would consider a pretty boring dad to five kiddos, from Lawrence KS. I'm most definitely #introverted, and in a past life I'd much rather be #reading a good book or playing some #JRPG on whatever system is current.
These days, I can generally be found at home, doing the #WorkFromHome thing as an application #SystemAdministrator dealing with lots of #OracleCloud fun (...not).
Downtime has me learning #clojure, #typescript, #angular, #emacs and basically anything shiny that catches my eye.
I've been #keto for the last few years, doing maintenance mode for most of that time, with no plans to change any time soon. It's a lifestyle for me, not a diet.
I've got a handful of accounts on the #fediverse, one of which is my single user #mastodon instance. I'm trying different things out to see which I prefer most.
