My name is Mimic and I've been floating around the fediverse for a while but always as an outsider looking in. I've finally taken the leap to actually make an account and participate.

I actually don't have any social media outside of a barely used tumblr account, so this is an experiment for me. Despite being part of Gen Z, I've never been super big on social media.

I'm interested in Free and Open Source Software, fantasy novels, and recently, knitting. I'm pretty openly queer but don't really use specific labels, though the closest terms would probably be nonbinary, demisexual, and panromantic.

I toot daily dabs found in the hit show LazyTown. Dabs are tooted in a random order, but will be tagged by character and season-episode.

Dabs, for this bot, are defined as any poses vaguely resembling one. We do not discriminate poorly formed dabs. Anything that makes my brain go, "haha dab," is a dab.

When we run out of fresh dabs, the bot will retoot old dabs until new dabs arrive!

I forgot to do an #IntroductionPost when I moved instances again, and after dealing with yet another reply guy who only skimed my post when it got boosted into his feed, and then got butthurt when I checked his behavior, I guess I need to spell this out again and pin it:

Hi, I'm Amy. I'm a sweary bitch. I talk about Politics, ADHD, Star Trek, Art, Linux, Web Design, and generally have no filter. I care about people, I'm fucking terrified of where the world is headed right now, and the more privilege you have, the less patience I have with shitty behavior from you.

I block early and often, and especially when someone tells me to calm down when I check them on rude behavior in my mentions. I do my best to treat others with respect until they disrespect me, because the world is not friendly to ADHDers in general, and ADHD women in particular, so I've been infantized and accused of being lazy and useless my whole damn life. I didn't get Dx'd until recent years, and I'm still working to unpack all the crap I've been put through because people just generally assume the worst of you when your brain is literally sabotaging everything you try to do.

I've been an #InfoSec professional for a bit now - too long for it being good for my mental health, some might say, but I still enjoy every second of it.

From time to time, albeit far too infrequently, I write stuff for my website (https://ti-kallisti.com).

I also wrote a little bot, the output of which is basically what would happen if an Adeptus Mechanicus priest became a Red-Teamer (@rubricatus_turma).

When I'm not hacking stuff I like to play video games, especially RPGs. For those I even like to go analog, being a forever GM for Cyberpunk RED and playing VtM from time to time.

I would like to say that I like reading, but I've neglected that hobby a bit these past few years. Maybe 2025 will change that.
