The Sun rises over #piers on the Indian #River.
The so-called “Indian River” is actually part of a large, #brackish #lagoon system in connection with the Atlantic #ocean, shielded by the barrier island.
This natural protection helped inspire the #Intracoastal #Waterway, a path for ships that allows them to move across the US coast without entering the deep ocean and the associated dangers.
