Master of Piece was the coolest game I played at PAX West 2025 and it's now finally out in early access!
A very interesting mix of something like Into the Breach meets Chess, it's got great art style and great decision making choices throughout.

Hoy es la primera vez en casi dos semanas de recuperación que me puedo sentar en el escritorio a jugar al pc y a lo primero que estoy jugando es al Into the Breach.
Ayer @mistheart se lo propuso a @kis y no he podido aguantar las ganas de echarme unas partidas.

Are there games you associate with a specific time of year?
For me, it's the Subset Games titles and warm summer nights. Playing #FTL with the window open, the evening glow, the soundtrack. So calm, so at home.
This year, I picked #IntotheBreach back up, and it hit that summer feeling just right.

Okay so last night I started #RiftRiff and you know what? It's wonderful.
Its a 'rogue-light' tower defense game from the guy who made *Hidden Folks*.
Now normally a tower defense game wouldn't ignite my fire if you know what I mean, no sir. However this is forgiving enough (it really respects my time) that failure doesn't feel like a chore in the slightest.
It's also super cute and each round takes like 2 minutes top.
Runs superbly well on the deck and its totally scratching the itch that games like #BadNorth and #IntoTheBreach left behind.

Only played through the opening missions so far, but so far "Tactical Breach Wizards" is a lot of fun.
Turn-based tactics with a rewind mechanism, sort of halfway between "XCom Chimera Squad" and "Into the Breach", but the setting is basically Harry Dresden crossed with Tom Clancy: Rainbow Six.

Metal Slug Tactics - Really solid demo here. Great polish, all the animation and design you'd expect from a Metal Slug game along with some neat updates to the turn-based tactical formula.
Cool use of environmental traps, special abilities, and hero synergies that give me all the great vibes of an Into the Breach successor. The question will be, though: how roguelike is it vs pure puzzle?
