OK, there's one thing bothering me regarding “Alien: Earth”: If you're on a decades-long deep space mission that requires cryo pods, how do you have cats on board the spaceship? Do they have their own little cryo pods? Or are they just semi-feral and evolve into a new species over time, like in “Red Dwarf”?
There is a red cat briefly seen on the Maginot. If I recall correctly, there is also a cat on the Nostromo. How?
I mean, sure, cats have historically been part of ship crews, but in space?

• The #MilkyWay 🌌 contains hundreds of billions of stars 🎇, and billions of them are similar to the #sun ☀️.
• It is highly likely that some of these stars will have planets 🪐 that are similar to #Earth 🌏.
• If we assume – via the #Copernican principle – that Earth is not particularly special, then #intelligent life should also exist on some fraction of these Earth-like #planets.
• Some of these intelligent life-forms might develop advanced technology, and even #InterstellarTravel.
• #Interstellar travel would take a long time, but as there are many sun-like #stars that are billions of years older, there has been plenty of time ⌛ for such #travel to have occurred.
• Given all this, why haven’t we met or seen 🔭 any trace of #aliens 👽 ?

Just finished an absolutely magnificent novel by Kim Stanley Robinson, Aurora (2015). I found the writing and the scope of it epic and brilliant, but also found the message troubling - as I had been expecting from what I'd heard of it in advance. It's definitely extremely thought provoking for those of us who dream of an eventual human diaspora in the stars.
