Trans-intersex aka transgender-intersex: An #intersex person whose gender identity does not match the one assigned by doctors/parents at birth, and identifies as #transgender. Because we intersex people have complex relationships with gender, please note that not all intersex people with genders different than their birth assignment identify as trans.

Please note this is an intersex-exclusive term. Sometimes perisex (non-intersex) people who want mixed sex characteristics will ignorantly say they want to "transition to intersex". This reflects harmful misconceptions about what intersex is: there is no single kind of intersex body, it ignores how intersex is a social experience, and disrespects the intersex community by not bothering to learn about us and our struggles. (The term for people who want to transition to mixed sex characteristics is altersex 💜)

Interdemigender: demigender in a way that is connected to being intersex. Demigender is an umbrella category for genders that feel partially connected to a given gender - e.g. demigirl is someone who feels partially female. An interdemigirl is someone who feels partly female in a way that is tied to being intersex.

Attached are flags I've made for interdemigender (yellow), interdemigirl (pink), interdemiboy (blue). Each one takes the original demigender flag and adds intersex yellow stripes to top and bottom to convey the intersex-ness.

Intersex and rare diseases: a flag for intersex people who have rare diseases, whether because their intersex variation is a rare disease, or because in addition to being intersex they have a rare disease (e.g. EDS).

The zebra is a common symbol of rare diseases. The design of replacing the ring of the intersex flag with a zebra head was created by queercripintersex on Tumblr in 2022. This version has a different zebra head on it.
