My colleague @tadusko shared an interesting find of 1-bit #LLMs from Microsoft, called #BitNet.
It essentially allows running the models on low-end hardware, and apparently performs well. It got me thinking about the #InternetOfThings and how that might end up becoming the #InternetOfLLMs, whereby manufacturers will end up jamming LLMs into their products when the cost of doing so becomes sufficiently low. Yikes.
The 1-bit model is here: https://github.com/microsoft/BitNet
