@Unlikelylass @CursedSilicon It's not super elaborate. Most of it is #InternetInABox doing its thing. That's mostly a lot of Ansible magic. Though I did put apt-mirror2 in a container which runs alongside everything else. Tweaked the Nginx server that IIAB sets up to serve the mirror (yay conf.d/). I also threw in another container hosting apt-cacher-ng, though it's designed to work offline. I have done 3 simultaneously laptop installs for testing. It works. I make damn pretty desktops.

Я просто в шоке.... оказывается, вещи о которых я размышлял в духе "было бы круто", существуют, но практически не известны в моих краях. Один из таких примеров #internetinabox Да,да, я знаю что в сети меня окружают люди которые знают всё, обо всём, спокойно, у меня тоже есть доступ к поисковику. По моему это один из тех проектов которые действительно могут "изменять мир к лучшему" не на словах, а на деле.

Eilen #wikimania'ssa puhuttiin #internetinabox'sta, jolla nettiä viedään mm. afrikkalaisiin kouluihin, joissa ei ole juuri mitään oppimateriaaleja. Sähköä pikkuboxit saavat aurinkokennoista - jos norsut eivät käy niillä vähän leikkimässä. Netti toimii tässä tapauksessa ilman verkkoa, offlinepakettina, johon on ladattu mm Wikipedia, Khan Academy, TED puheita, open streetin karttoja yms.
Hankkeessa haaveillaan länkkäreiden laatikon pohjalle hylkäämistä kännyköistä, joita voisi käyttää myös bokseina.

I use it as the foundation for my little free e-library,https://github.com/michaelbelcher/LittleFreeELibrary
But it can also be used as a stand alone NextCloud instance, offline Wikipedia/ #kiwix server or open source maps interface.

I am slowly working up to the point on a couple of projects where I think they can be mashed up.
A #meshtastic node built into a guitar amp.
A #cigarboxguitar with an #internetinabox #IIAB node that streams what you are playing...as well as serving up your own curated bits of the internet.
A custom #cigarboxguitar with a vplayer screen https://vplayer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/videoPlayer.html playing ...whatever. Maybe the time has come to play the entirety of #DarkSideOfTheMoon on a #cbg while it shows #WizardOfOz??
