  7. Do you have a valuable idea in the area of digital commons and networked technology, that will contribute towards achieving a more open information society?

  8. @ed It’s a fine way to push back against extractive practices, but I’m ultimately uninterested in profit-sharing from corporate AI as well as the social media companies for which we tried the same thing to no avail.

A lot of their profit comes from harmful activity and I want no part in it.

What I want is for any data I share on the #InternetCommons to only be used by tools and companies that honor those same principles of open sharing.

  9. *tries to use multiple search engines, gets annoyed at how terrible they've all become*

I'll keep saying this: why not search as an Internet commons? Search will always be polluted by a profit motive, never mind completely destroyed by a surveillance advertising model.

If we can have Wikipedia and FOSS and noncommercial federated social networks (etc.), we can certainly figure out how to do a noncommercial search that actually works.

Since I am not much of an internet theorist, a billionaire or a genius, it'll be up to someone else to figure it out, but don't tell me it's not possible.
