Понятно, что для внешних поисковых систем ссылки на китайские источники крайне ограничены, но внутренний поиск по тому же Baidu также выглядит скупым и как будто цензурированным. Позже мне попалась статья о массовом исчезновении китайских ссылок периода 1998-2005 года, что только укрепило желание покопаться в этом феномене поподробнее. Итак, предыстория: китайский блоггер Хэ Цзяянь решил написать статью, посвященную Джеку Ма - опальному основателю Алибаба и Алипэй. Он задал временные рамки 1998-2005 годов и получил ровно один результат, и то отнесенный к этому периоду ошибочно. Изумленный (давайте использовать это слово) Хэ лезет в Google и получает чуть больше результатов, но все равно их катастрофически мало (важное уточнение: поиск идет по иероглифам 马云, тогда как английское написание дает кратно большую выдачу). Хэ Цзяянь пишет об этом целое эссе, которое исчезает через 20 часов. Последуем за китайскими лангольерами?

Filelocator Pro has changed everything for me. Anything with embedded metadata and text data can be indexed. I will never be able to compete with the #internet_archive and hope that they get their systems back online ASAP.
The archive.org security leak was important, but for most of us, just another day on the Internet. The data exposed really minimal compared to the recent National Public Data leak. I've already had someone in California apply for a job with my details inc. DoB and SSN.

The video in which they talk about their motivations shows no efforts trying to explain any link between how bringing the web archive down helps Palestine, or brings attention to that struggle at all. They didn't replace the website with some banner, it's just a DDoS... Even if, how about going after literally any other target? While the Internet Archive is awesome, it's still a nonprofit mostly used by a niche. Taking down the website of any Fortune 500 company, or probably most somewhat larger corporations, would make more sense.
As I said, the lack of any connection between the stated goal and what is actually being done lead people to believe that this was a massive troll/false flag. I can't yet decide if it's idiotic or masterfully done. All public messaging is but a parody of itself. It's AI generated slop “cool hacker images” with the most overly dramatic editing I've seen.
If I paid the worst NCIS writer to invent a hacking organization you'd need two people on one keyboard, “a gigabyte of ram”, and a rubix cube to solve inside of your terminal, to defeat, this is what they'd come up with.
