Heute ist International Roma Day und es finden in Berlin um 15 Uhr parallel die Roma Parade (ab Denkmal für die ermordeten Sinti*zze und Rom*nja) und ein Community Event für Rom*nja und Sinti*zze im Grünen Salon der Volksbühne statt.

At yesterday's event, I was thrilled to hear youth representative, Roxana Daniela Petrache, saying:
“#InternationalRomaDay is a celebration of our resistance, our pride in our heritage, our struggle but also the progress we achieved as we claim our seat at more tables and work to leave no one behind”.

April 8 is the International Roma Day. Remember & learn about the fate of some 23,000 Sinti & Roma who were deported to the German Nazi camp #Auschwitz.
Some 21,000 were murdered there.

At the #InternationalRomaDay celebration, I committed to:
🔹champion the human rights of #Romani people
🔹initiate and nurture an ongoing dialogue with Romani people across Europe
🔹engage with Romani youth
🔹support Romani women and girls as agents of change -
