It’s #InternationalMigrantsDay Migration has always been a part of human history, with people moving to seek better opportunities and escape conflicts, violence and climate-related impacts.

International Migrants Day is celebrated annually on 18 December to highlight the contributions of migrants around the world and to shine a light on the increasingly complex environment in which migration occurs. This year's theme is ‘My Great Story: Cultures and Development’- highlighting how human mobility drives growth, enriches societies, and helps communities connect, adapt, and support one another.

In honor of #InternationalMigrantsDay yesterday, @texasinafrica & I wrote a review piece in #TheMonkeyCage on 3 recently published books examining the experiences of refugees and migrants and their host countries in #Africa and beyond.

I hope you'll read the review. More importantly, I hope you'll read the books. I learned from each of them.

Sally Hayden's book in particular is a very difficult read (because of the content, not the writing).
