I think International Men’s Day has potential as a good cause, though all too often it is overshadowed by people hijacking it to push their own awful ideology. I'm so tired of hearing sexist men sooking about International Women’s Day and unironically asking "Why is there no International Men’s Day?"
Dads4Kids, also known as Fatherhood Foundation, is a hate-group led by Christian fundie, Warwick Marsh. He's acting as though he's the global leader/organiser/owner of International Men’s Day. He's appropriating the movement to spread hate against LGBTQIA+ people, women, and the concept of feminism. He's on record for making transphobic comments such as "homosexuality is a mental disorder" and "many have left the homosexual lifestyle," which I think amounts to promoting the harmful practice of "gay conversion." I think Warwick Marsh exudes Divorced Dad Energy, and he appears to hate anyone who he feels is a threat to his sense of entitlement and toxic masculinity.

I want to share a video from a man that I had known for his videos on atheism but I think he addresses a few of the hotly debated issues around masculinity and the "anti-woke" grift in a very calm and honest manner (from the perspective of a woman, at least).

One of my best interactions with another man was in a parking lot, we were both backing out of parking spots and lightly bumped each others' cars.
We got out, look at each our cars. There was no damage. We both shrugged, smiled, said, "have a good day" and went on our ways.
This is how it could be.

Happy #InternationalMensDay to my fellow dudes!
Great opportunity to reflect on our shared privilege. We all need to work together to address toxic masculinity and gender inequality that are at the root of so many of today's world's problems.
We need to learn to call each other out, just saying "not cool, man" can make a big difference.
And we also need to embrace being vulnerable and not be afraid to ask other men for help. And be there for other men seeking help.
It's not the responsibility of other gender groups to provide us with free emotional labor.

As a cis man, #InternationalMensDay sounds like a joke, especially considering the current hellscape.
What's there to celebrate? That a female presenting coworker needs to work twice as good as me to reach my step on the ladder, and even then, she will never be paid as much as I'm paid? That whenever I have a brilliant female presenting coworker on my team, I need to fight my male presenting bosses so that she gets the recognition she deserves?
Are we celebrating privilege?
Nah, I'm good.
