On this #InternationalDayOfDemocracy, we’re spotlighting how investigative reporting protects democratic systems worldwide — stripping away secrecy to expose shadow networks, financial crime, and abuses of power.
Democracy isn’t just threatened at the ballot box; it’s hollowed out when private interests seize control of public institutions.
"Chronicling Capture," analyzing 51 OCCRP investigations across 23 countries, maps these mechanics.

On today’s #InternationalDayOfDemocracy, we’re reminded that democratic institutions increasingly depend on digital infrastructure to do their work.

Open source can give public institutions greater transparency, independence and control over their data and the tools they rely on.

The Brandenburg State Parliament uses OpenProject for digital collaboration and project management within its independently operated IT infrastructure.

You have to remember one thing about the will of the people: it wasn't that long ago that we were swept away by the Macarena. [Jon Stewart]

It’s #InternationalDayOfDemocracy

Keep aspiring. Both those living in and those wishing to live in a democracy.

It’s #InternationalDayOfDemocracy Keep aspiring. Both those living in and those wishing to live in a democracy.
