  1. Ever had that feeling that the day is longer than usual? Well my Saturday is actually going to be 45 hours long!

  2. @hacks4pancakes Since you will be a day ahead of us, please let us know how things are going to go tommrow. #internationaldateline

  3. Thanks to #JohnElledge’s book, I have learned that at some times of day, it’s simultaneously yesterday, today and tomorrow. It’s all to do with the way the #InternationalDateLine wiggles around. The book is “A Brief History of the World in 47 Borders”

  4. Today is the #December #Solstice, marking the start of #Winter in the #NorthernHemisphere and #Summer in the #SouthernHemisphere. It occurs when the #Sun is at its most southerly #zenith at midday. This year it is at about 21:48Z meaning that it will be somewhere precisely overhead in the southern #PacificOcean, but to the east of the #InternationalDateLine. It also means that the Sun will set at its most southerly bearing of the year tonight giving you either the longest night or longest day.
